Eames Fiberglass Armchair DAR White Base

The Eames Fiberglass Armchair DAR White Base was created by Charles and Ray Eames for the brand Vitra.

This manufacturer had a close relationship with the American design duo and first started producing Eames furnishings under licence in 1957. Their friendship has made Vitra the recipient of a vast proportion of the couple's estate, with a variety of Eames products taking pride of place in the company's Design Museum located in Weil am Rhein, along with a major retrospective  of their work and lives which took place in 2017/18.

This Eames Fiberglass Armchair DAR White Base has the "Eiffel Tower"-style base construction typical of Eames designs, made of powder coated steel for added strength and durability. The comfortable seat shell features armrests and is comprised of one piece of fibreglass, available in a variety of colours. The crackle effect of the fibreglass adds a decorative element to these armchairs and they are easy to clean with just a damp cloth. Felt gliders are fitted to the feet of the chair to protect all kinds of hard flooring. The armchair measures 62.5 x 83 x 60 cm, and the seat height is 43cm.
