The Eames Wooden Elephant Miniature has been created by Charles and Ray Eames for the brand Vitra. The Eames Elephant was first created in 1945 as a plywood toy, using experimental wood moulding methods that were developed by the Eames themselves. Many years later, the iconic design has been reintroduced in a new plastic format by Vitra, sharing its unique aesthetics with a new generation of toy and furniture lovers.
As the name suggests, the Eames Wooden Elephant Miniature resembles an elephant, complete with its trunk and tail. It is intended to act as a decorative ornament or a children's toy, and will enchant youngsters with its cartoonish looks and personality. The exterior of the figurine is made from dyed-through polypropylene plastic, and a range of colours is available including pink, light blue, red, and black.
The Eames Wooden Elephant Miniature is much smaller than the original, and it measures just 39cm long, 20.5cm wide and 21cm high. In fact, it's small enough to serve as a charismatic paperweight or executive toy, brightening work spaces in the process. Larger versions have also been reintroduced by the same label, including both plastic and plywood varieties. Mix mini and large Eames Elephants for a jungle themed interior that kids will adore.
