The Jut Garden Armchair has been designed by Karim Rashid for the brand Vondom. Egyptian-born and Canadian-raised industrial designer Rashid is known for edgy, innovative pieces that defy convention. His pieces are also optimally functional. One of his well-known designs is the Jut Garden Armchair. This minimalist chair is made of polyethylene resin which is 100% recyclable. It is very robust and can stand up to weather elements so the chair can be used indoors as well as outdoors. Outlets ensure that rainwater and melted snow drain away rather than pool on the seat. Strong sunlight is also no match for this chair. It can withstand high temperatures and is resistant to UV rays. This uniquely designed piece is a take on the classic armchair, using clean, uncluttered lines. The whole chair is one unified piece without any joints, giving it a sleek profile. It has a low backrest, armrests and a seat that all have straight lines without any curves. The back legs are angled outwards rather than straight which makes it more stable and durable.
