The Brunch Bar Table 180x70x110cm was created by Romano Marcato for prominent furniture label la palma. For over 30 years, la palma has been fostering great design talent and producing award-winning furniture pieces in an environmentally sustainable way, garnering a German Design Award nomination in 2016. This elegant Brunch Counter/Bar Table is an excellent example of what can be achieved by the company's sterling design team. Having spent almost a decade of his design career in the industrial precision engineering sector, Marcato here allows the understated beauty of clean and almost mechanical lines and curves to emerge in this simple and minimalist piece of furniture. The wood-veneered honeycomb board of the table surface is allowed to curve and extend to the ground on one side, while being counterbalanced by a standing metal leg on the other. This unusual juxtaposition of both materials and shape allows the table to work well against a wall or as a more central piece in a room. Measuring 180cm long with a height of 110cm and a width of 70cm, it is robust enough in its dimensions to seat many, both as a mealtime surface and as a work and study location.
