The Herb Rug 200x300cm has been created by Nani Marquina for the brand Nanimarquina. Spanish textile designer Marquina set up her self-named brand to make the most of her design talent and to fill the gap that existed in the market at that time for premium quality, contemporary rugs like the Herb Rug 200x300cm.The rug gets its name from the fact that it was inspired by fibres sourced from nature and used in their natural state. The rug is made entirely of hand-spun jute. It is stain resistant, hardwearing and lightweight. It is also versatile in that it can be used to cool a floor during hot seasons and to warm it up during cold ones. Also, the fibre has natural antibacterial properties, is biodegradable and no chemicals are used during its cultivation. The rug is a hand-loomed dhurrie, which means that it has a flat structure formed by crossing over the warp and weft strands. This weaving technique makes it possible to weave rugs with simple or elaborate designs by using different densities.
